Midnight hour, light the candles
Lightning strikes, no good intentions
You seek the truth, blind you are
Maybe death won’t leave a scar
You feel no fear but that’s a shame
If all go wrong you know who’s to blame
Within this book, lies the ritual
To summon death, just have to spit it all
The walls are falling down
And the witch begins to crawl
Her spell begins to fall
So you summon the witch and now you see
The truth that once you seek will have a price
With blood and agony no need to plea
And now she'll lead you on through eternity
She’ll make you love, she’ll make you hate
She’ll make you deaf, she’ll make you scream
There’s no feeling you can hide
When you get it, you’re out of mind
You’ll pass the gates, no turning back
Dead sea scrolls to shake your head
The travel is long, there is no fate
The trail is lost in time and space
The walls are falling down
And the witch begins to crawl
Her spell begins to fall
So you summon the witch and now you see
The truth that once you seek will have a price
With blood and agony no need to plea
And now she'll lead you on through eternity
Her blood in my veins. The pact was sealed.

If Elric had a soundtrack it would be this. It's everything you want from a epic metal album. Like a hot poker in the eye, but in a good way. Scott Malthouse

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
